I wasn’t sure if I was ready for a Coronavirus pandemic novel but this was set far enough in the future (2025) and the virus had mutated and our control methods had changed enough for this to still be an escape. The author did a good job of referencing back to the beginning of the pandemic and explaining generally how the virus and response had changed that I didn’t have to cringe over misinformation. The characters were well written with some good twists. I would definitely seek out this author again.
